Description:
The photographer posted this photo on January 31, 2019 and noted, “For 15 minutes each day, during the right time of year, the setting sun hits this crevasse in the rock at just the right angle to create a radiant beam of light across the shoreline.” Sunset in late January seems to be one of these perfect times.
Navigate to the parking coordinates above or to “17100 Pacific Heights Rd, Brookings, OR 97415” to arrive at a parking lot equipped with restroom in Harris Beach State Park. There is no parking fee.
Walk down to the beach and head to your left until you reach the arch rock formations in the ocean. It should be quite easy to spot.
