Description:
The photographer posted this photo on October 4, 2019, when the fall colors had peaked, from the northeast side of the lake (facing southwest).
This stunning view of Crystal Lake in the San Juan Mountains is easy to access as it is located just off the side of Highway 550 (Million Dollar Highway) in Ouray, CO. Simply park on the shoulder of the west (southbound) side of Highway 550 at the coordinates above, and you’ll find a short path towards Crystal Lake.
