Description:
The photographer posted this photo on February 14, 2020, and believes that he found this location “near the beginning of the Trollkyrkerundan Trail.” If you can’t find this exact spot, there are many similar forest scenes throughout the trail.
This pine and spruce tree forest view can be found along the Trollkyrkerundan Trail, or the “Red Trail”, in Tiveden National Park in Sweden. The trail is marked by red hexagons with 1 dot in the center. The Red Trail is an easy 2.8 mile (4.6 km) loop that begins at the park entrance, but does require some climbing over or under rocks and trees.
A highlight of the trail is Trollkyrka (“Troll’s Church”), a secluded butte-like rock in the heart of Tiveden National Park. The hike provides a beautiful view of Lake Vättern. The park’s website lists the time to complete the trail as 3.5 hours, but some reviews state it took far less than that. A Virtual Tour of this trail available, if you’d like to preview the terrain before embarking on your hike. The park is open year-round.
