Description:

The photographer posted this photo on February 13th, 2019.

If you would like a view of this three-layered waterfall, it will only take you about 5-6 minutes to reach the photo location for a breathtaking view. However, many say it it worth it to take the steep, downward trail to the bottom of the waterfall for an even better view.

Dainthlen Waterfall, a popular spot, is close by to this hidden gem. To find Wei Sawdong Waterfalls, instead of turning into Dainthlen while going west, continue straight on Dainthlen Road and turn left onto a narrow road. There will be a signboard showing the location of the waterfalls. The road is not in very good condition so be careful. Park on the side of the road and trek to the viewpoints from there. I found that Cascade Homestay is very close, but keep driving around the bend a little longer before parking.

The route to the bottom of the waterfalls is mostly bamboo bridges, stairs, and mud. It is extremely dangerous so be sure to wear proper trekking shoes. When wet, the bamboo is slippery so a hiking stick may help. We advise you don’t visit during monsoon season (June-September). The winter season (October-February) is the best time to access this area. Many have expressed that though this hike is difficult, the view at the bottom is absolutely breathtaking.
