Prohodna Cave is off the beaten path in the Iskar Gorge area of Bulgaria, but well worth the detour. Directions are a little tricky, so just navigate to and park at the coordinates above. From the parking area, you will see a path to your west that goes down towards the “small” entrance of the cave, about a 5-minute walk.
Prohodna Cave has two entrances, the “small” entrance and the “big entrance” on opposite ends, like a tunnel through a hill. The natural “Eyes of God” phenomenon is located in the central chamber of the 262-meter cave, just a short 5-minute walk from either entrance. Walk with caution, as the cave floor can be muddy and slippery.
While the walk from your car to The Eyes of God and back could take you less than 30 minutes, many people spend an hour or more wandering around the rest of the cave’s passages.
